The Pursue Story
Pursue Health was founded in 2014 by its CEO, Jose Lynch, and CFO and Treasurer, Jimmy Sims. Jose and Jimmy are both healthcare executives with close to 50 years of combined experience in the post-acute care industry.
Jose’s career began as a nursing home (“SNF”) administrator with Beverly Enterprises in 1992. In 1995, he joined Country Villa and became the Administrator of Country Villa Rehabilitation Center in Los Angeles, and one year later was promoted into a Vice President of Operations position where he had oversight over twelve SNF’s in the Southern California area, which then grew to twenty-two through acquisition until he left in 1998. From 1998 until 2002, Jose was the Regional Vice President of Operations for Southern California and also the Senior Vice President of the Western Region for Mariner Post-Acute Network. In 2002, he joined Fountain View (later renamed Skilled Healthcare) as President and Chief Operating Officer and at the end of his term with Skilled Healthcare was overseeing the operations of 100 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in eight states. In addition to his long-term care oversight for Skilled Healthcare, Jose was named President of Hallmark Rehabilitation, LLC (the ancillary rehabilitation business of Skilled Healthcare). He was appointed to the Skilled Healthcare Group, Inc. Board of Directors in December of 2005. Jose successfully helped guide this company through the process of becoming publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange in 2005.
Jimmy began his career with Beverly Enterprises as a staff accountant in 1993. He soon joined GranCare as a reimbursement analyst and held various corporate and operational roles including Vice President of Operational Finance. Joining Skilled Healthcare in 2007 as the Vice President of Planning and Analysis, he was shortly thereafter promoted to Senior Vice President of Reimbursement, Planning and Analysis. In 2010, he was appointed to the position of Senior Vice President, Operations Finance and Reimbursement. In this role, in addition to continuing oversight of the reimbursement and budgeting process, Jimmy assumed responsibility for the Operations Finance, Denials Management, and Patient Accounting departments as well as supervised all field accounting functions through the divisional and regional structure.
In early 2014, Jose and Jimmy left Skilled Healthcare and founded Pursue Health, LLC –a start-up venture.
They have built Pursue Health into a successful company with a hand-selected team of people who share their vision of striking the right balance between what they call “business time, family time, and me time” and “being physically and mentally present” when working and spending time with family and friends. This balance is something we encourage all employees to strive towards.
